Oahu Tours and Activities

Useful tips and comments for reference while participating in Oahu's activities.
  • Always carry a map or the Concierge book.
  • Whenever possible, walk rather than drive. Most Waikiki activities are within easy walking distance from your hotel.
  • Don't jaywalk. The police are not above giving you a ticket and the locals are not above running you down.
  • Traffic on the H-1 and H-3 freeways is backed up from 6:30-9:30 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. Expect at least half an hour driving from Waikiki to the airport.
  • Golf: Most courses on Oahu are extremely difficult from the back tees (see Ko'olau Golf Club). Give yourself a break and play from the resort tees. Arrive at least 30 minutes early for all golf tee times. If you need to cancel your tee time, call at least 48 hours ahead.
  • For activities that include hotel pick up, make sure you are waiting at the designated pick up spot when the bus arrives. Drivers will not wait for late sleepers.
  • For your comfort on water or trek adventures, it's advised to bring a bathing suit, towel, appropriate footwear, and possibly mosquito repellent.
